Boris Johnson is speaking “complete nonsense” by claiming EU chiefs desires to show the bloc into superstate, the President of the European Fee has mentioned.
Requested for his response to feedback made by the Overseas Secretary in a Wednesday speech, Jean-Claude Juncker advised reporters in Brussels that he was “strictly in opposition to” an EU superstate.
“Some within the British political society are in opposition to the reality, pretending that I’m a silly, cussed federalist, that I’m in favour of a European superstate,” Mr Juncker advised a press convention.
“I’m strictly in opposition to a European superstate. We aren’t the US of America, we’re the European Union, which is a wealthy physique as a result of we now have these 27, or 28, nations.
“The European Union can’t be constructed in opposition to the European nations, so that is complete nonsense.”
