EU council president calls out Donald Trump’s ‘transatlantic bickering’ in face of Russia tension

The president of the European Council has launched a thinly-veiled assault on Donald Trump’s method to worldwide relations, accusing the US president of “transatlantic bickering” within the face of obvious Russian aggression.

In a Wednesday afternoon tweet through which he didn’t explicitly title the US president, Donald Tusk mentioned that the requirement for “transatlantic unity” must be “apparent” for Europe’s “actual associates” after the US president pushed ahead with tariffs on European metal and aluminium.

Mr Tusk cited the usage of a nerve agent on European soil, the unfold of state-sponsored pretend information, and the meddling in elections as causes for a coordinated response from the US and EU.
