“[The nurse] had an clearly male look . . . close-cropped hair, a male facial look and voice, massive variety of tattoos and facial stubble.”
The lady declined to go forward with the smear check however emphasised her grievance was not in regards to the nurse’s look or her gender standing.
Central and North West London NHS Basis Belief stated: “We apologised to this affected person for the recording error and since the workers member accepted they did not handle the state of affairs appropriately or professionally; the affected person wanted to really feel listened to.
“Belief coverage for all providers is to think about critically all requests for clinicians of a specific gender; it permits sufferers to really feel extra supported; we are going to deny a request if we imagine it to be sexually motivated or the place there could be a danger to a member of workers, however we are going to at all times clarify ourselves.”
