Offended travellers have vented their frustration at being caught in a single day in airports because the UK was hit by snow and ice that disrupted travel.
There have been many delays and cancellations at London’s Stansted Airport with a whole lot of passengers left caught within the terminal attempting to rebook flights.
Tv star Fay Ripley, from the ITV collection Chilly Ft, tweeted that she had been caught on a Ryanair aircraft on the runway for 10 hours.
Others criticised being caught on planes for hours, lack of know-how about cancellations and issues retrieving their baggage.
One other tweeted: “We’ve been trapped on a aircraft at Stansted Airport for greater than three hours. There are various youngsters onboard. We bought a cup of water an hour in the past. Ship assist”.
Fiona Davidson tweeted: “@Ryanair my 13 yr previous daughter was left sitting on the identical aircraft for eight hours, no clarification, no refreshments… surprising service.”
A spokesperson for London Stansted advised Sky Information that the climate situations meant that Ryanair and Easyjet cancelled some flight and that free meals and drinks had been offered to delayed passengers.
“Passengers unable to return house are being taken care of by Stansted Airport with beds and blankets, and extra assist for aged passengers or these with younger youngsters,” the spokesperson stated.
Luton Airport stated it needed to considerably scale back inbound flights and a few had been cancelled with delays to permit de-icing of plane.
